Tee also known as pipe fitting tee or tee pipe fitting, tee joint, etc. Used mainly to change the direction of the flow, in the main pipe branch pipe. Can be classified by diameter. Generally made of carbon steel, cast steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminum alloy, plastic, argon brick, PVC and other materials.

The three-way has three openings, namely, an entrance and two exits; Or two import, one export of a kind of chemical pipe fitting, T and Y shape, with equal diameter pipe mouth, also have reducing pipe mouth, used for three same or different pipe junction. The main function of the tee is to change the direction of the flow.

By process

1. Hydraulic bulging

Hydraulic bulging of tee pipe is a forming process which compensates the bulging of branch pipe through the axial compensation of metal material. The process is to use special hydraulic press, with three links within the tube billet diameter equal injection liquid, through the two horizontal side of the hydraulic cylinder synchronization of the motion of tube billet, billet after squeezed smaller volume, smaller volume of liquid with the tube billet inside the tube billet and pressure, when pressure tee branch pipe bulge out to the metal material in the liquid in the cylinder and the pipe pressure under the dual role of flow along the mold cavity and the branch pipe.

The hydraulic bulging process of tee can be formed in one time, and the production efficiency is higher. The main wall and shoulder wall thickness of tee increased.

Due to the large tonnage of equipment required by the hydraulic bulging process of seamless tee, it is mainly used in the manufacturing of standard tee with wall thickness less than DN400. The suitable forming materials are low carbon steel, low alloy steel and stainless steel, including some non-ferrous metal materials, such as copper, aluminum, titanium, etc.

2. Hot pressing

The hot pressing of tee is to flatten the blank larger than the diameter of tee to the diameter of tee, and open a hole in the part of the drawing branch. The tube billet is heated and put into the forming die, and the punching die of the tensile branch tube is loaded into the tube billet. Under the action of pressure, the tube billet is compressed radially. In the process of radial compression, the metal flows towards the branch pipe and forms the branch pipe under the stretching of punching die. The whole process is formed by the radial compression of the tube billet and the stretching of the branch part. Different from hydraulic bulging tee, the metal of hot-pressed tee branch pipe is compensated by the radial movement of the tube billet, so it is also called radial compensation process.

By pressing the tee after heating, the tonnage of equipment required for material forming is reduced. Hot pressing tee has wide adaptability to materials, suitable for low carbon steel, alloy steel and stainless steel. Especially the big diameter and tube wall thick tee, usually using this forming process.
